Dear Mr. Larson:
I am a writer preparing a comprehensive article on the animated films of Walt Disney for the American film magazine Cinefantastique, published in Chicago by Frederick S. Clarke.
I was able to ascertain from David Smith in the studio archives that you and Judge Whitaker were responsible for the animation of the Caterpillar in Alice in Wonderland, a sequence I’ve viewed countless times and which I never fail to find brilliant and amusing. I was writing to ask if you might be kind enough to take time out of your busy professional schedule to supply me with a few comments on your work for this great scene, as Alice is one of the films I’m hoping to cover in most depth as an example of one of the best of the middle and late features.
