Luther Reese Marr was born on June 23, 1925, to Aileen Schimfessel and Dr. Luther D. Marr. He attended UCLA, undergraduate (1946), then USC School of Law (1950), and served in the U.S. Navy in the 1940s.
Luther began his career with Disney in 1954 as the first attorney for Disneyland! Throughout his career he served as the Vice-President of Corporate Affairs, Vice-President of Shareholder’s Services, Corporate Secretary, Communications Attorney, Contractual Attorney for Awards and Contests, and many more positions.
He worked for the Disney Company for 58 years. He retired at the age of 86 and passed away on February 27, 2015.
Bob Thomas: Roy certainly had a softer approach than Walt did. He certainly was concerned about his people.
Luther Mar: He seemed more aware of human relations than Walt was. Walt was aware of his projects, but I didn’t sense that he had the same feeling for people that Roy had.
