Michael Broggie: What we want to hear about is, like Walt would tell stories and he’d start with the beginning, is how you happened to come to work for the company. Give us a little insight into your own personal background. I know you’re from Texas. Give us a little lead-in as to how you ended up at the company.
Harriet Burns: I started when we came out here after my husband got back from Korea. We came to California and he had seen it and loved it. Of course we had a daughter and she was two, and I didn’t plan to work. We used to park near his business, and on De Longpre [Avenue] there was a prop shop. And so I would walk into this prop shop because I had done things like that at Neiman Marcus and various places, and had my degree in art, and my graduate work in art also.
