Disney’s Background Department in the early 1930s only included two members: Emil Flohri and his assistant, Carlos Manriquez. That is, until the talented Mique Nelson joined in 1932. Nelson wrote many letters throughout his life, a few of which survived thanks to his friend Frank Reade.
