In 1986, as part of the research for the book The Disney Studio Story (co-authored by Brian Sibley), Richard Holliss interviewed Kostal about his time at the Disney studio, in particular his work on Mary Poppins and the (now controversial) 1982 digital re-recording of Fantasia.
