Marjorie Faulkner was born in Boston in 1910. She studied art at the Boston School of Fine Arts. Moving to Los Angeles, she attended Chouinard Art Institute, specializing in fashion illustration in watercolor as well as finely detailed pen and ink. She was hired by Disney as an inker in 1932.
Marge became good friends with Evelyn (Henry) Coats, who became her supervisor in the Inking Department during the production of Snow White. In 1935, she married Arthur “Lefty” Hudson, who maintained a successful dental practice in Glendale, California, for many years.
Marge left Hyperion in 1938 and was re-hired at the Burbank Studio in 1955 by another close friend, Ink and Paint Department head Grace Bailey. Her eye for color would lead her to the Color Model Department, where she designed the unique color styling for many Disney characters.
