We had action classes. They would run newsreels of football and horse races. [We tried to answer the question] “How do things move?” We studied the principles of gravity, physics, inertia.
There were informal sessions with all joining in. We had a feeling of discovery. Take the race horse: “Look how the shoulders are working. See how the back end pushes off.” We talked about weight and how it moved. We also ran Ginger Rogers’ dances with Fred Astaire. Don Graham synthesized everything.
