Frank A. Reilly managed Disney’s comic-strip department for 29 years. Born in New York in 1906, he studied at Pratt Institute of Art in Brooklyn and became a comic-strip editor in the late ’30s. Between 1938 and 1939 he wrote the script for the comic strip Scorchy Smith, whose art was created by Howell Dodd.
