When Joe Grant passed away, the offi cial release sent out by the Walt Disney Company contained the following sentence: “At the time of his death, Joe Grant was developing several feature-length and short animation projects in collaboration with his friend and Disney colleague, Burny Mattinson.” Burny, who worked, not only with Joe Grant, but also with Marc Davis, Eric Larson, Frank Thomas, and quite a few other “old-timers,” is one of those few Disney artists who decided never to retire.
