Disney Studios' first multi-million dollar venture into SF fantasy was an excursion to the heart of a mystery – The Black Hole. In typical Disney fashion, the film offers a mad scientific genius – lost in space many years and presumed dead – who challenges the forces of nature in search of her ultimate truths. Instead, he loses his sanity, his humanity and, finally, his life.
