Behind every great man is a woman, they say. and that goes for a great Mouse, too For 70 years. Minnie Mouse has stood steadfastly by her world-famous sweetie. But she didn’t give up her own career to do so. Since her joint debut with Mickey in Steamboat Willie on November 18, 1928. Minnie has not only shared her partner's success — her talents have also made her a star in her own right.

Minnies skills as a singer and dancer wowed audiences early on in such "let's-put-on-a-show" pictures as M ic e ’s Follies 11929) and Blue Rhythm (1931). Mickey's first theme song. "Minnie's Yoo Hoo" was the first Disney song released on sheet music, and the tune. "Who'll Buy a Box Lunch?" which she trilled in Building a Building (1933) was a popular success.

The leading lady also demonstrated unsurpassed acting in such costume dramas as Ye Olden Days (1933) and Brave Little Tailor (1938).
