Much like the time-traveling movie character Marty McFly, Bob Gurr spent much of his fabled career with the Walt Disney Company going back to the future.
One minute, Gurr was building nostalgic vehicles to ride up and down quaint, turn-of-the-20th century Main Street in Disneyland, the next he was coming up with designs for futuristic modes of transportation.
While Gurr was busy designing a submersible vehicle to transport guests on a submarine odyssey through a "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea" set, he was working on the track and ride vehicles for the Matterhorn Mountain bobsled attraction ... all the while looking to the future as he came up with a Buck Rogers-inspired design for a Disneyland monorail system.
