For creator Walt Disney, Disneyland is a 20-year dream come true. Five million visitor a year pour into his magic kingdom. Spread across 160 acres in Anaheim, 25 miles southeast of downtown Los Angeles, Disneyland combines storybook adventures, the wonders of nature, a look into the future, and pages out of history. During the peak Summer season the park employs nearly 4,000 people to man the 45 major attractions and countless exhibits and shops.
Driving with two of his granddaughters in an antique electric car, Mr Disney heads the Parade of All Nations that opens the holiday season. More than 2,500 marchers decked in costumes of some 30 lands take part in the annual parade down Main Street.
