Walt Disney is an easy man to get to, but he's a little hard to find. I found him in a luxurious office in the heart of his multimillion-dollar studios in Burbank, California. To reach him, you have to sort of tread nimbly through a countless array of awards, plaques, cups, medals, trophies and testimonials -- each a monument to some "Disney's Folly." Mischief twinkled in his eyes as he leaned back in his chair amid this cornucopia of universal acclaim. The man with the ageless heart of Peter Pan was trying to laugh off his seemingly unlimited success. "I guess," he said, "I'm just corny through and through." I guess he's right. Certainly there is corn in his favorite maxim: "You don't know what you can do unless you try." Everybody knows that. But Disney saw it as more than just a pious adage. He put it to work.
