Walt Disney World Resort's Rock ‘n' Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith and The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh are black light attractions that bridge the generation gap. Here's how Ken Lennon added new twists to some old favorites. Two new attractions at Walt Disney World Resort are drawing throngs of thrill seekers. Rock ‘n' Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith at the Disney-MGM Studios theme park is a magnet for coaster buffs who scour the planet in search of high-speed adventure. At the other end of the spectrum, The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh brings to life the adventures of everybody's "chubby little cubby." The buzz among lighting industry pros is not about inversions and honey pots, however, but how the designers took a new twist on traditional lighting techniques to tell their stories. Aerosmith Rocks, Guests Roll Rock ‘n' Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith, an indoor attraction that combines the white-knuckle thrills of a coaster with a specially recorded soundtrack by the legendary rock band Aerosmith, blasted off in summer 1999. The five members of Aerosmith teamed with Walt Disney Imagineering (WDI) to create the thrill ride, which features a high-speed launch of 0–60 mph in 2.8 seconds, three inversions, rock concert lighting and an Aerosmith soundtrack thundering from 120 onboard speakers in each coaster train—all firsts for Walt Disney World.
