Mickey Mouse Hangs It Up

The Gulfstream I that flew Walt Disney on scouting missions and carried Mickey Mouse on goodwill tours for more than 28 years touched down for the last time on October 8, 1992. The G-I (N234MM) was landed by Disney pilot Manny Regateiro on World Drive, just west of the Disney-MGM Studios in Lake Buena Vista, Florida. The plane was then lifted by crane and set down inside the studios where it will be displayed. Since early 1964 when “the Mouse” went into service, it has made more than 8,800 flights, logged nearly 20,000 flight hours, and covered some five million miles while carrying an estimated 83,000 passengers.
