Epcot Center, scheduled to open in Central Florida around October, 1982, will be the largest privately financed construction project in the history of mankind. Not very many government-financed projects have been bigger, for that matter. The new Walt Disney Productions enviro-entertainment conglomerate will spread across 600 acres at a total cost of $800 million, maybe more by the time it is finished, although cost overruns in privately financed undertakings are usually minimal.
Mickey Mouse says the project needs contributions in engineering and in construction planning, supervision and administration. The search is on right now for the best people obtainable to fill these positions. "We need the nation"s top creative people in a variety of professional and technical fields to work at WED and MAPO Enterprises, the design and manufacturing divisions of Walt Disney Productions," says Mickey.
