When the World's Fair opens this month in New York, the products of the sheet metal contracting industry will be contributing heavily, both front-stage and back, to the excitement, comfort, and safety of show that will attract about 80 million visitors. One of the most unusual attractions will be a 120 ft high "standing mobile," designed by Walt Disney's WED Enterprises, Inc., for the Pepsi-Cola pavilion. Contractor Ray Mellon of Los Angeles has turned pipe, and sheet metal, and glass fiber into a perpetual motion whirling, spinning and swiveling "Tower of the Four Winds" at the entrance to a wonderland for both children and adults. Read about it here then see it at the Fair.
