William H. "Bill" Berg was a Disney animator and writer who worked at the Studio for more than five decades .
A native of Tacoma, Washington, Berg attended Chouinard Art Institute in Los Angeles and joined Disney on September 26, 1938, as a trainee. He became an inbetweener on January 5, 1939, and an assistant animator on April 18 of that same year. On September 13, 1943, he moved to the Story Department where he worked until his retirement in 1988.
As an assistant animator, he worked on sequences of Pinocchio, among others. In the Story Department, he created scripts for several Donald Duck shorts, including Donald in Mathmagic Land, which was nominated for an Academy Award, and helped create the character of Ludwig Von Drake.
